VIDEO EDITING

Edits that hold attention for the right length.

A video has to fit the channel and the point it is making. We cut footage, graphics, and audio into ads, social clips, and longer explainers, then export them in the formats those placements need.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

The video editing engagement.

Edits for ads, social, and explainers, cut to the length the channel needs.

  • Assembly and pacing

Selects, structure, and timing so the piece makes its point before the viewer leaves.

  • Social cuts

Versions sized and paced for the platforms you actually post to.

  • Captions

On-screen text for silent viewing, checked against the spoken line.

  • Graphics and titles

Lower thirds, end cards, and simple motion that match the brand.

  • Sound

Dialogue, music, and basic mix so the edit is listenable, not just watchable.

  • Delivery

Exports for web, social, and presentation, named so the team can tell them apart.

BENEFITS

Why it is worth doing properly.

  • A cut with a job

Each edit is paced for a placement and a message, not a generic highlight reel.

  • Versions that fit

Social, web, and longer cuts are planned together instead of cropped afterwards.

  • Readable without sound

Captions and on-screen text carry the point when the viewer is muted.

  • Files you can post

Exports arrive in the formats and lengths the channel needs.

PROBLEMS WE SOLVE

The things people tell us.

These are the situations clients describe when they come to us for this work.

  • Footage sits unused because nobody has time to cut it.

  • One long edit is cropped for every platform and feels wrong on all of them.

  • Social videos have no captions, so most viewers never hear the point.

  • Revisions pile up because the first cut had no agreed structure.

DELIVERABLES

Typical deliverables.

These are possible deliverables, not a bundled promise. Your proposal names the files, functionality, review rounds and handover included.

  • An agreed cut of the primary film
  • Platform-specific versions included in the scope
  • Captions or on-screen text where the brief needs them
  • Title, end card, and simple graphics
  • Review links before final export
  • Final files named by placement

PROCESS

How the work runs.

  1. Brief and selects

We agree the message, the length, and which footage or assets are in play.

  2. Structure

A rough cut shows the order of the piece before polish.

  3. Picture and sound

Pacing, captions, graphics, and audio are refined against the rough cut.

  4. Export

Approved versions are exported for each placement in the scope.

Who is this for?

Editing can fit when you have usable footage and a clear message for a defined placement. Motion can be added where the brief needs it.

When a smaller scope may be enough

If key footage is missing, plan capture first. Reframing cannot always turn a wide shot into an effective vertical ad.

What affects the cost?

Raw-footage length and condition, final duration, audio treatment, captions, graphics and export variants affect the edit. A new script or concept is a scope change, not a minor revision. Agree feedback rounds and source-file delivery before production.

Plan your video

What to bring to the brief

Bring original footage, the approved message, brand assets, placement requirements and media-use permissions.

WHY ZYFISTA

How we work on video editing.

The same principles run through every engagement, whatever the service.

  • Development built for scale

Typed, documented code and content models that hold up when the site doubles in size.

  • SEO considered from day one

Structure, markup, and internal linking are designed in, planned early so content and engineering support each other.

  • Clear project communication

A staging URL you can check any time, weekly written updates, and early warning when something slips.

  • Long-term growth mindset

We would rather build something you can extend for years than something that needs replacing in eighteen months.

FAQS

Questions about video editing.

Do you shoot the footage?

This service is editing. We can work from footage, screen recordings, voiceover, and graphics you supply, and we will say if the material is not enough for the film you want.

Can you cut several lengths from one film?

Yes, when those lengths are in the scope. A hero film and shorter social cuts are a common set.

Which formats do you deliver?

The formats the placement needs, agreed before the edit starts, typically web and social masters.

How many rounds of changes are included?

We agree the number of review rounds in the scope so the cut does not stay open indefinitely.

What footage and assets does a video editor need?

Provide the original footage, a clear brief, the intended audience, target placements and any approved script, brand assets or voiceover. Include permission to use music and supplied material. Explain which moments must remain and what can be cut. Missing assets, mixed recording formats or unclear approvals can affect both the edit schedule and the final output.

Should an ad be exported in multiple aspect ratios?

Use separate exports when the placements need different framing, rather than assuming a crop will work. A wide website video and a vertical social placement can lose different parts of the same shot. Agree the ratios and durations in the brief, then review product visibility, captions and safe areas in each version before delivery.

Are subtitles and project files part of the delivery?

Specify subtitles, caption formats and editable project files in the delivery list. Burned-in captions and a separate subtitle file serve different uses; text also needs proofreading. Project files may depend on linked footage, fonts, plugins and music licences. Our product motion study shows an MP4 preview, not evidence that every social format or editable source package was delivered.
